Sesame Street holds a special place in my heart. I spent countless hours watching it at my grandma’s house as a child. Naturally, I chose a Sesame Street theme for my son’s 4th birthday! I initially searched for cake ideas to inspire a cake decorator.However, I decided to bake the cake myself, which didn’t go as smoothly as I hoped! This theme is incredibly versatile. The vibrant colors and diverse characters offer limitless creative possibilities!

My actual Sesame Street cake
Sadly, the photographer missed capturing the fondant faces around the cake’s edges, and I also didn’t get any photos myself. I’m so disappointed. Despite this, I enjoyed creating my first decorated cake, even though it doesn’t resemble the inspiration at all! But that’s okay as I’m now hooked on cake decorating!

I made a Sesame Street nameplate by tracing a printed template onto the fondant.I then used a circle cookie cutter to create the sign’s curved top.For the letters of his name, I used individual fondant letter cutters.
