Beach & Sand Cake
Summer to me means the beach, so I created a beach-themed cake. My family beach trips are cherished memories. I could happily vacation at the beach every year! That’s why I hosted a “summer lovin’ cake collaboration” with the unbelievable Instagram community. their creativity amazed me, and I enjoyed reading their summer stories. Cake Details
I made four 6-inch vanilla cake layers using Fat Daddios cake pans.The frosting was @sugargeekshow’s Easy Frosting Buttercream, tinted with gorgeous blue hues using Wilton Color Right Performance gel colors. I created the buttercream waves with an icing spatula. Crushed banana wafers became the “sand.” I also used a seashell mold from Etsy to make fondant seashells and other sea creatures. Acrylic discs from Cake Safe helped me achieve smooth frosting and sharp edges. The gorgeous tropical flowers and cake stand were purchased locally. I loved the vibrant colors!
